The views are outstanding; you'll look out across Arrowtown and over to Lake Hayes.
If you're focused on the task it would probably take 15 minutes to reach the top - longer if you take your time to enjoy the view and play around as we did! Best recommended for the sure-footed and those looking for less of an easy path and more of an adventure.
How to get to the Feehly Hill (aka Dagg Hill) Track
To reach the summit, first, you have to find the path. Walk to the back left of the Arrowtown Cemetary - the path might be a little tricky to find the first time around but that just adds to the fun. Halfway up the hill there is a lookout seat, don't give up here! Keep going up the trail and you and the kids will be rewarded for your effort.
The view is especially stunning in the late afternoon. Just make sure you leave yourself plenty of daylight to get down, it's not a track you'd want to be walking in the dark.
Best Spot for a Picnic
Make sure to pack the picnic in a backpack so that your hands are free for the walk. There are two ideal spots - either at the seat half way up or on the hill summit. Don't forget to be a tidy kiwi and take your rubbish with you.
